We are finding more and more worn items on our existing robot. We have decided to build a new one more compatible with this year’s game. (We have been trying to use last year’s bot with only modifications to play this year’s game.) Since we are adding a wheeled intake also, it is just better to rebuild using existing parts on hand and use the existing robot in the meantime for practice and in the Oxford qualifier if necessary.

Below on the existing bot is a bearing that has slipped out of its seating hole that was repaired. It had been improperly installed last year – without a shaft collar to back it up. 


Also, there is an extremely loose drive chain that cannot be adjusted to remove the slack without major overhaul. We may have to live with this until we can rebuild it or finish up a replacement robot.
